Glazed façade · balustrades · fins · secondary steel · Lidco International
Two coastal towers of 64 and 46 storeys over four podium levels. At that height the wind environment and the weatherproofing line are unforgiving, and the glazed façade, balustrades and secondary steel all load back into the primary structure.
- Structure and façade engineered together, so the secondary steel and the glazed envelope were resolved as one load path rather than two packages meeting on site.
- Computational fluid dynamics to read local wind pressures, including at the balconies where standard code values do not tell the whole story.
- Thermal and weatherproofing detailing carried through to certification.
A documented, certified and buildable envelope for both towers, with the façade-to-structure interface settled in design instead of on the program.
