2026 · Jewellery trade supplier · Sydney

Mak's Trading Co.

A family-owned jewellery trade supplier in Villawood, Sydney — boxes, displays, trays, packaging and tools, since 1986. The old Wix site was barely more than a phone number. The brief: a real site that shows trade buyers the full range, makes the order line one tap away, and loads fast on the phone they carry on the showroom floor.

The brief

Where it was, what it needed.

Where it was

What it needed

A bare-bones Wix site — barely more than a phone number and a few lines of text
A real site that shows what Mak's carries, not just a number to text
No way to see the actual product range
A five-category browse — boxes, displays, trays, packaging and tools
Conflicting opening hours and a closure notice buried in body text
Clear hours and a sitewide closure banner trade buyers can't miss
Slow and awkward on a phone
Fast, mobile-first — built for buyers ordering from the counter
The order line hidden in a paragraph
Tap-to-text and tap-to-call ordering on every screen

What we built

A supplier that finally looks like more than a phone number.

  • 01A multi-page site — home, range, visit, about and contact — instead of a single bare page
  • 02A five-category range browse (jewellery boxes, display stands & units, trays, packaging & bags, tools) so buyers can see what Mak's actually carries before they reach out
  • 03Text-first ordering — tap-to-text and tap-to-call straight to the trade line, on every screen, matching how Mak's already takes orders
  • 04A trust strip leading with the things that matter to the trade: 40 years (Est. 1986), family-owned, Villawood, supply across Australia and abroad
  • 05Real Google reviews surfaced on the page and linked out to the live profile — no invented testimonials
  • 06A sitewide holiday-closure banner, so the annual shutdown is impossible to miss
  • 07An embedded map and a visit page with full hours — Wednesdays and Saturdays clearly closed
  • 08Static-first rendering, hosted on Vercel — every page pre-rendered, fast on the phone a buyer carries on the showroom floor
  • 09A calm, editorial identity with serif display type — distinct, nothing that looks like an off-the-shelf template

Proof

Built for the way Mak's actually sells.

Fast on the phone they sell from.

Trade buyers order from the showroom floor and the bench. The site is pre-rendered and loads quickly on mobile, without jumping around as it does.

Static-first · pre-rendered on Vercel

More than a number to text.

The old site was a phone number and a few lines. Now a buyer can see the full range and how Mak's works before they ever reach out.

A five-category range browse

Ordering the way the trade already works.

No cart, no checkout — tap-to-text and tap-to-call straight to the trade line, the way Mak's has taken orders for forty years.

Text-first ordering, no checkout

Outcomes — 90 days in

Numbers when they're real, not before.

We commit numbers to print only after the data is real — enquiries, text and call volume, and search visibility for the trade terms Mak's competes on.

This section updates around late August 2026 — about a quarter after launch.

In their words

Smart Labs is the real deal. He took the time to actually understand our family business, then built us a website that looks every bit as premium as the jewellery our customers are able to make! The whole process was smooth, he kept us in the loop at every step, and delivered something I'm genuinely proud to put the Mak's Trading Co name to. If you want someone who treats your business like it's his own, please do not hesitate to reach out to Smart Labs.
