Smart Labs is one senior software engineer, Mark Franco, building custom websites and
software for professional firms and local service businesses. Every engagement is
consultative and fixed-quoted in writing. There is no self-serve checkout.

## What Smart Labs sells

- **A one-off custom website**, owned outright by the client, from $6,000 + GST. Larger scopes are fixed-quoted in writing.
- **Existing-site improvements** on a site the client already has, from $1,500 + GST, with a fixed written scope after a short review.
- **Self-edit (CMS) uplift** at +$1,500 + GST on the quoted build, where the client wants to edit copy, photos and pages themselves.
- **An optional monthly care plan** after launch: Care $120 + GST/mo, Care+ $249 + GST/mo, Managed $399 + GST/mo. Month-to-month.
- **Search and visibility work**: search foundations in every build, local search and Google Business Profile setup at $299 incl GST, and a written website and search review quoted per engagement.
- **Automation and software**: workflow automation, business dashboards, internal tools, and AI consulting. Scoped first, then fixed-quoted. No public starting price.

## Who it is for

Primary: law firms and engineering firms Australia-wide, with construction and
specialist law, expert witnesses, structural and forensic engineers, quantity
surveyors, valuers and surveyors as the strongest proof. Secondary: Sydney trades
and local service businesses.

## How an engagement runs

1. You get in touch and describe the work. Mark replies personally.
2. If there is a fit, you see a free concept of your actual site before anything is payable.
3. A fixed quote is agreed in writing before any build work starts.
4. Standard new builds are billed 50% deposit on approval and 50% at go-live, as Stripe invoices with GST and ABN shown.
5. You own the site outright. There is no mandatory retainer.

Third-party costs (domain registration, hosting, Google Workspace) are invoiced
separately at cost and are not marked up.
