Start from what you are building
The certificate you need follows from the project and the stage it has reached. If it is not obvious, say what you are building and it gets worked out on the call.

Complying Development Certificate
Combined planning and construction approval where the project meets the state policy, without going through a development application.
- CC
Construction Certificate
Confirms the construction drawings and specifications comply with the Building Code before work starts on a project with development consent.
- PC
Principal Certifier
Appointed to oversee a project through construction, carry out the mandatory inspections and issue the certificate at the end.

Occupation Certificate
Authorises a completed building to be occupied and used, once the required inspections and compliance evidence are in.

Building Information Certificate
For existing work already built, where council needs to be satisfied before it will take action or a sale can proceed.
